Canberra International Airport serves Canberra, Australia’s capital city. The airport is Australia’s eighth busiest airport and serves as the main hub for Brindabella Airlines. In 2011 the airport handled 3,240,848 passengers.
Canberra International Airport features five terminals. The Qantas Terminal which is no longer open is on the western side of the building, the Common User Terminal, the Southern Concourse Terminal, Western Concourse Terminal and General Aviation Terminal.
The Common User Terminal serves Tiger Airways Australia and Virgin Australia. The Southern Concourse Terminal serves a number of airlines which includes Brindabella Airlines, Virgin Australia, and Qantas. The Western Concourse Terminal is currently under construction and the General Aviation Terminal is a separate building that serves the NSW Air Ambulance, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Australian Federal Police Air Wing, ACT Emergency Services and Wingaway.
Shopping and dining are also part of the airport with a number of shops and eateries to enjoy which include Hudson’s Coffee, Relay, which features books, Travelex which offers a wide range of products and services, Tuk Chop which offers vibrant Asian food and Velluto which features to go snacks, coffee and cold drinks. Other features of the airport include a first aid station, security, information areas, and a lost and found department.
The airport does allow travelling with pets but the pets must be lodged at the Australian Air Express facility. There are no hotels within the airport but close by you will find the Diplomat Hotel, Best Western Motel and Quality Inn Country Plaza Queanbeyan.

Passengers enjoy the convenience of LED signs that show how many parking spaces are available in each row. Disabled parking is also available and located in the airport car parks.
