Kuala Lumpur International Airport is located in Malaysia and is the country’s main International airport and a major airport in South East Asia. The airport is located roughly50 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur International Airport is ranked Asia’s 5th busiest International airport and the world’s 14th busiest airport and can handle 35 million passengers annually. The airports two main domestic operators are AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines, which handle a bulk of fights in and out of the country.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport features five terminals, the Passenger Terminal Complex, the Main Terminal, KL City Air Terminal, the Satellite Terminal A, and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal. A number of airlines service the airport which includes China Airlines, AirAsiaX, Air India Express, EVA Air, Emirates, EgyptAir, as well as many other airlines. A number of cargo airlines also fly in and out of the airport which includes TNT Airways, MASkargo, Gading Sari, FedEx Express, DHL, Cargo Gruda Indonesia, as well as, many other air cargo carriers.
The airport features a number of services, facilities and amenities which include FlyFM which is a radio broadcast that brings airport features 24 hours a day and broadcasts nationwide, a KLIA Bluetooth Zone, and a number of Kiosks that include an Internet Kiosk that allows users to surf the Internet. The airport also features a number of restaurants, bars, lounges and shopping venues. Throughout the airport there are magnificent pieces of art and displays for flyers to gain a bit of culture and enjoy masterpieces of both local talent and talent from abroad.
The airport is a modern airport with a number of services and facilities for travellers and patrons of the airport with disabilities, such as, mobility disabilities or hearing impaired. It also features a number of services and facilities for families flying with young children such as, baby changing rooms, play areas for the children, and special boarding privileges. The airport is climate controlled, and features large gate waiting lounges with comfortable chairs for flyers to relax while waiting for their flight’s departure.
