What to see in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is perfect example of how east meets west. It became Britain’s colony in 1842, and became an international trade, finance, and culture centre under its rule.
Now, Hong Kong combines Chinese traditions with British culture. So no worries because that also means the locals can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
From colonial to cosmopolitan, the city is a gateway for exploring the rest of Asia. Besides shopping districts, Hong Kong has plenty to offer you - tourist attractions, mouth-watering meals, spectacular views, numerous festivals and more.
See all of Hong Kong at Victoria peak, where you’ll find the best views of the city, day or night. If you want a bit of whimsy, buy your tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland and relive your childhood. For Hong Kong’s other best theme park, try Ocean Park and hang out with the animals.
Want to feel more of the east? Hop on the MTR and visit the Giant Buddha on Lantau Island and Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower.
If you’re looking to spend your Hong Kong Dollars, Causeway Bay is your shopping haven. Other shopping centres you can go to are The Landmark, Harbour City, and Pacific Place. Bargain hunt and test your haggling skills in Mongkok, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Tung Chung.
Is your night just starting? Then check out the Temple Street Night Market, or wine and dine in SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong.
Feeling festive? Join in on Hong Kong’s festivals throughout the year. Celebrate the Chinese New Year in February, Dragon Boat Festival in June, Hong Kong National Day in October, Christmas Winterfest in December among others!
And if that’s not enough Hong Kong for you, here are 50 reasons to love Hong Kong.
