What to do in Malaysia
Malaysia is a fantastic Southeast Asian country that mixes both modern and old world charms. Most travellers find Malaysia fascinating because it has many sides to it that will give you all sorts of adventures and experiences.
Explore Malaysia’s green side and visit the country’s impressive national parks. See the proboscis monkeys at Bako National Park, trek the jungles of Taman Negara, conquer the heights of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, and stop by the gorgeous World Heritage Site at Gunung Mulu National Park.
Are you more of a beach bum? Let the sun kiss your skin at Sipadan and the popular Perhentian Islands. Feel the soft sand in your toes and enjoy a refreshing cocktail at the postcard perfect Langkawi Islands too.
Make a splash in Malaysia and discover the depths of the ocean when you go scuba diving in the world-class Sipadan dive site. The country also has exciting rapids for anyone who loves white water rafting, like Jeram Besi, Tembeling River, and the extreme Telom River.
But if the pulse of the city is what gets your heart racing, you can’t miss Kuala Lumpur. Get to see the famous Petronas Twin Towers, and get a spectacular view of the city from its observation deck. Travel back in time when you see traces of Malaysia’s past in Malacca. And if you’re on a food hunt, Penang is your best bet.
Make sure you spend your Malaysian ringgit when you go shopping all over Kuala Lumpur’s city centre, Chinatown, or Little India. From souvenirs, clothes, electronic goods and more, shopping here is quite the experience too. And most of the locals speak English so you’ll have no worries when haggling.

The best time to visit western Malaysia is during the wet season (April-October) so you can enjoy cool temperatures and brief rains. Malaysia’s east coast is at its best almost year-round, with the exception of the months from November to February.
