Legazpi, “The City of Fun and Adventure,” is home to many historic churches, dive spots, distinct black-sand beaches, a wide range of accommodation choices, and beautiful land formations that await both local and foreign adventurers. Legazpi is also the hub for other destinations such as Donsol, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon.

Tourism

Ligñon Hill Nature Park in Legazpi has an observation station at the summit that offers a beautiful view of the city and the best spot to view Mayon Volcano. Historic World War II sites include the Japanese Tunnel, used by the Imperial Army, and the Liberty Bell, installed by American liberation forces in 1945. Embarcadero de Legazpi is a mall compound that offers dining and shopping, as well as recreational activities including parasailing, jet-skiing, and boating.

During August, the streets are filled with people in costumes as locals and tourists celebrate the Ibalong Festival.

Mayon Volcano is within reach from Legazpi. Its famous near-perfect cone shape can be viewed from historic Cagsawa ruins, or visited through a scenic road that goes up to 2,500 feet above sea level.

Legazpi Airport and Airlines

Cebu Pacific flies 3 to 4 times each day of the week direct to Legazpi Airport. The airline offers the most number of flights to this city in the Bicol Region. PAL Express has a scheduled 9:15a.m. flight daily as well. Flight time is a little over an hour.

To further lower airfare rates, Cebu Pacific no longer serves free snacks and drinks inflight. They now have a snack bar where can buy food and drink items for a reasonable price and can be paid either in peso or USD. A baggage allowance of 20kg is provided for each passenger, plus one (1) hand-carried baggage of up to 7kg, which must be small enough to fit in the overhead bin.

PAL Express, just like Cebu Pacific, provides basic shopping services onboard. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available.

Baggage allowance differs for the three flight classes: 10kg for regular economy; 20kg for premium economy, plus one hand-carried baggage up to 7kg; and budget economy class does not come with free baggage allowance.
