What to do in Phuket

Phuket is Thailand’s biggest island, giving you heaps of reasons to love the sun, sea, and sand even more. It’s popular with travellers for its stunning beaches, but you’ll find plenty of other ways to enjoy the island.

Hire a tuk tuk and seek the sands Phuket’s many beaches, such as Kata and Karon Beaches. Enjoy your food by the shore at Kalim Bay and Cherng Talay. If you’re after Phuket’s ultimate beach party, head straight to Patong.

You shouldn’t miss Phuket’s neighbouring islands too. Ride a boat to Phang Nga Bay to see the famous James Bond Island and Koh Panyi. Make a day of it and stop by Phuket’s quieter beaches along the way. Don’t forget the pristine islands of Similan and Surin where you can go diving, or the popular Phi Phi for cave explorations and night parties.

Check out Phuket’s top destinations next like the cultural theme park - Phuket FantaSea, the colourful Wat Chalong temple, and the iconic Big Bhudda for panoramic views of Phuket. Find more gorgeous views of the island at Karon Viewpoint and Radar Hill. Then complete your ultimate outdoor adventure and head to Khao Sok National Park where rivers, waterfalls, and elephants are waiting for you.

Shopaholics love Phuket. Go spend your time and Baht in all kinds of shops. Find bargains at the Phuket Weekend Market. Are you more into food shopping? Visit the stalls for treats at the Banzaan Market. And if you’re still craving Thai food, there are plenty of street food and hawker stalls all over Phuket.

You can also join one of Phuket’s festivals for a taste of their vegetarian cuisines in October for the nine-day Vegetarian Festival. Celebrate like a local with the exciting Songkran water fight in April, and be dazzled by the lanterns of Loy Krathong festival of lights in November.
