What to do in Hawaii
Hawaii is an archipelago and the 50th state of the United States of America. With its natural beauty, warm locals, and delicious food, Hawaii is a dream destination for anyone who’s even thinking about travelling.
Heaps of visitors fly to this romantic sun-kissed island every year to find their slice of tropical paradise. From tourists, surfies, scientists, and foodies, Hawaii has something for everyone.
Out of Hawaii’s eight major islands, you can visit the six ones that are open for tourism, and all of them boast beautiful scenery. There’s the Big Island, Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, and Lanai.
Hawaii or the Big Island (to avoid confusion with the state itself), is the largest of the islands. Take pictures and marvel at Mauana Kea, Mauna Loa, and the green sand beaches of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Oahu is famous for the Pearl Harbor tours, caged shark snorkel dives, and the Diamond Head. You can also go whale watching next in Maui, or go snorkelling in a volcano crater called Molokini Crater.
Kauai is the "Garden Isle” of Hawaii, and it’s been picked as the location for a lot of movies. The island’s home to several natural wonders like the Waimea Canyon, Wailua River, Na Pali Coast, and Mount Waialeale.
The Big Island is the volcano island where you can join a land tour or fly over the huge volanco on a helicopter tour. You can also have the rare opportunity to swim with wild dolphins.
Do you experience the island like a local? Sign up for classes in hula dancing, surfing, and lei-making, and be part of an authentic luau to taste Hawaiian cuisine.
No matter which part of Hawaii you’ll go, it’s the perfect destination for travellers who want to go explore the mysteries of the island, or sit back and enjoy its relaxing vibe.
When to visit Hawaii
One of the best times to visit for lower rates and fewer crowds is during late spring (mid-April to early June) and fall (September to mid-December).
But before you fly to the US and visit Hawaii, secure the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) so you can stay for up to 90 days as a tourist. You should also get a valid authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), and your passport must also be valid for at least six months from the date you enter the US.
